Unearthly - a book written by Cynthia Hand - is one of the greatest angel themed books I have ever read. And.I.Loved.Every.Single.Page.Of.It. It was really worth my time.
Clara Gardner is a part angel or as Cynthia Hand calls it - an angel blood. Clara is a teenage girl that needs to balance her life and her angel life. Clara's love life does not last for the preponderance of the book. We get to know the real Clara not just the love-struck-teen Clara. Christian - the boy from her visions - as Wendy says it, god-like. So you can't blame Clara for fainting around a guy like that, specially when being around him may or may not trigger her visions.
Tucker Avery - the brother of Wendy Avery - on the contrary is nothing like Christian. He is rude and he teases Clara and her orange hair by calling her Carrots.
Cynthia Hand created masterfully Clara's story, so that it is like a contemporary love story that has plenty of angel lore to catch the attention of the paranormal and supernatural lovers.
Unearthly is a sweet love story concealed in the mythology of angels on earth; here to do some life-saving, purpose-driven, destiny-following deeds.
Cynthia Hand's book is definitely one of my best and favorite reads of the year. Hope this post will lead you straight to the bookstores worldwide.
